Important Note Regarding Ramadan

During the holy month of Ramadan, the visit to the Sultan Qaboos Mosque will be from the outside only (photo stop), as the mosque is not open to visitors.

Please also note that eating and drinking in public during daytime is prohibited. Most restaurants and cafés remain closed until sunset, except for selected venues inside hotels. We kindly ask all guests to respect local customs and traditions during this special time.

Sultan Qaboos Mosque

The largest mosque in the Dhofar region, impressing visitors with its monumental Islamic architecture, intricate decorations, and peaceful atmosphere.

Haffa Souq

A traditional market located opposite Haffa Beach and near the Sultan’s Palace. The air is filled with the scent of Dhofari frankincense, bakhoor, and Omani perfumes, while handmade clothing and souvenirs create an authentic Omani atmosphere.

Fruit Farm

Walk in the shade of coconut palms, see banana and papaya trees, and discover other exotic plants that create Salalah’s unique tropical landscape.

Omani Halwa Shop

Taste the famous traditional dessert rich in saffron, honey, and dates – perfect as a gift or a sweet souvenir from Oman.

Salalah Grand Mall

The largest shopping center in Salalah, offering a currency exchange office, hypermarket, clothing and perfume stores, as well as cafés, restaurants, and a children’s play area. A perfect stop that combines modern shopping with relaxation during your city tour.

Helpful Tips

  • No Sleeveless or Shorts allowed for both men and women, and ladies must cover their head with the scarf while visiting religious places.
  • Non Muslims cannot visit Sultan Qaboos Masjid on Friday. All the other days they can visit in morning from 8am to 11am. In evening, its a photo stop from outside
  • Most shops in Haffa souq are closed from 12:00 - 16:00 hrs
