East Salalah Tour Itinerary

1. Taqa Castle and Town

Start your journey with a visit to Taqa Castle, one of Dhofar’s most prominent landmarks, built in the 19th century. This historical fortress was once the residence of the local governor. Besides the castle, there are other 2 notable site, Burj Al Askar and Koofan Heritage House. You’ll also drive through Taqa Town, a picturesque coastal village, to get a glimpse of traditional Omani life.

2. Taqa Beach and Cliffs

Next, visit Taqa Beach, where you can take in the breathtaking view of the cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea. It’s a perfect spot for a scenic photo.

3. Wadi Darbat

Discover the magical Wadi Darbat, home to seasonal waterfalls, including the cascade waterfall and stunning travertines. Enjoy a peaceful boat ride or kayaking adventure along the canal, with views of Jabal Al Qara (Dhofar Mountains) in the background. The valley’s lush greenery is a refreshing contrast to the desert landscape.

Optional Activity: Boating (5 OMR for couple) or Kayaking (3 OMR for 2 adults).

4. Optional Camel, Horse, or Quad Bike Riding Experience

Make your Oman experience even more memorable with a scenic ride on a camel, horse, or quad bike. This optional activity lets you soak in the stunning landscapes, providing a unique way to experience Oman’s beauty and culture.

For a 30-minute ride, the cost is 12 OMR per camel, horse, or quad bike. You may choose to pay directly at the riding location or in advance through us for added convenience.

Helpful Tips:

The Wadi Darbat is seasonal and may not be visible at all times.
A local-style picnic at Wadi Darbat is available for an additional 5 OMR per person.
If you’re interested in hiking at Wadi Darbat , your guide can lead you on a scenic 30-40 minute hike.
Other language options available: Italian, German, Polish, Russian, French at additional cost.
This is a private tour that is available every day. If you want a group tour, which run twice every week, you can book East Salalah Group Tour.

The rare Black Camels, the lost city, now found and the climax of dune bashing in the Empty Quarter and the desert sunset. Finishing with dinner in the desert night and star gazing.
Mohammed and his brother were perfect hosts with many interesting and amusing chats in the Land Cruiser travelling there and back.
Never a dull moment.

 Verified A Memorable First International Family Trip – Thanks to an Amazing Team
This was our first international family trip, and it turned into a very memorable experience for us, largely because of the support and guidance we received from Beautiful Salalah Tours. A special thanks to Amina, who coordinated everything from the beginning. She was very supportive, patient, and flexible, and helped customize the itinerary exactly based on what we wanted. We had quite a long list of places to cover, and she worked with us to make the plan as practical as possible. Our guide, Abu Salim, made the trip even more special. He has excellent knowledge of Salalah, the local culture, routes, and the places we visited. More importantly, he understood very quickly what kind of experience we were looking for and adjusted the trip accordingly. He was friendly, patient, and made us feel very comfortable throughout the journey. Initially, I felt the price was a little high, but after completing the trip, I genuinely felt it was worth the cost considering the private vehicle, long hours, customized itinerary, and the quality of the guide and service. We were not able to cover every place we had originally planned, but that was completely from our side. We got tired and realized only after reaching Salalah that the number of places we selected would realistically need at least 3 days to enjoy properly. In fact, both Amina and Abu Salim had already explained this to us at the beginning, so this was purely our own planning mistake. Overall, we are very happy with the experience. For our first international trip, this became something we will remember for a long time. Thank you Amina, Abu Salim, and the Beautiful Salalah Tours team for making our Salalah trip so enjoyable and memorable.  Verified Good Tour While in Salalah
We book the East Salalah Safari. The pickup time is on time, the Land Cruiser car is OK for 6 persons (but I think for people sitting in the most back side, the space is very small and I suggest to use bigger car for more than 4 persons). The journey to destinations is exciting in some parts. The guide (Abu Salim) really tries his best to make the tour enjoyful.

It never felt like I was simply being taken from one tourist attraction to another — Abu Salem made the journey itself part of the experience. His knowledge of Salalah and Dhofar was excellent, and I really enjoyed hearing about the places we visited, the local culture, and Oman along the way. He was patient throughout the tour, never rushed me, and always made sure I was comfortable and enjoying my time. The scenery and places we visited were beautiful, but having such a kind and hospitable guide made the trip even more special. By the end of the tour, Abu Salem felt more like a local friend showing me around Salalah than simply a tour guide. We had the best experience ever in Salalah! 🤍 On our first day, we took a tour of West Salalah, and Mughsail Beach, Marneef Cave and the cliffs were simply breathtaking 😍 I highly recommend booking your tour with our guide - Abu Salim. His planning was very well thought out, and he took us to a few extra hidden gems that weren’t even included in the tour. It made the experience feel so much more special and personal. On our last day we explored East Salalah and Abu Salim was also kind enough to drop us off at the airport ☺️ Beautiful Salalah Tours provided an excellent service from start to finish.
